💡 How Moonboon’s Sign-up Form Delights New Parents
We love how Moonboon's newsletter pop-up does so much more than capture emails.
Rather than sticking to the typical sign-up process (asking for the visitor's name and email address), Moonboon takes it a step further by offering a fantastic incentive that appeals to its target demographic.
After filling out their email, visitors are prompted to enter their child's birthday. 🎂
The message reads that those who fill out this field will get an exclusive treat to make their child's day 'extra special!'
This is a fantastic way to build a connection with customers right away and keep your store top of mind for gift-giving.
They also made this messaging inclusive: Their disclaimer at the bottom includes expectant moms and parents with the message 'Haven't given birth yet? Just enter your due date.'
After completing this section, the final step is for Mooboon to welcome visitors to their community and invite them to explore products and educational articles about baby sleep, positioning them as a valuable resource for new parents.
The takeaway?
Don't just use your newsletter pop-up to collect emails.
Uncover valuable data about your target audience.
Send more personalized emails that have a higher chance of increasing brand loyalty and sales.

💡 The Great DTC Debate: Send Traffic to Amazon or Your Website?
Should you push traffic to your website or send it to Amazon?
Pilothouse shares these insights about pushing traffic to Amazon.
On one hand, Amazon takes a cut of your margin and owns the customer relationship, which is a tough pill to swallow for many DTC brands. ❌
But on the flip side, Amazon converts higher than most websites, has built-in trust, and gives brands access to demand at scale. ✅
So what’s the right answer?
It’s not either or. It’s both.
The smartest brands know how to balance their Amazon and DTC strategies without cannibalizing either one.
Here are a few different ways you can leverage Amazon:
1️⃣ Make Amazon work as a customer acquisition tool. Many shoppers discover brands on Amazon first, so why fight it?
👉 The key is pricing, branding, and positioning to ensure Amazon is adding to the overall contribution margin, not taking away from it.
2️⃣ Structure offers strategically. If your Amazon and DTC pricing don’t make sense together, you’ll lose control of the customer journey.
Bundling products differently, adding exclusive perks to DTC orders, or positioning Amazon as the easy access option for new customers can help drive long-term value.
👉 Make both offers enticing to the customer (and profitable for the business) and let the customer choose their preferred checkout option.
3️⃣ Use Amazon data to fuel DTC growth. The Search Query Performance Report tells us exactly which search terms are driving conversions.
👉 Most brands only apply this to Amazon, but it can be a goldmine for DTC and paid social strategy.
4️⃣ Think of Amazon as a brand-building channel, not just a revenue stream. It’s not just about the margin today, it’s about market share, discoverability, and long-term brand positioning.
👉 Understand the goal for Amazon in your ecosystem and build the strategy to achieve it.
Brands that win aren’t the ones fighting Amazon. They’re the ones who use it as a strategic growth lever.
Amazon success starts with the right conversations.
If you’re not discussing these topics with your team or agency, let’s change that.
