💡 Google’s Biggest AI Search, Video Creation, and Shopping Updates
Google just announced a slew of AI updates that will disrupt how users search, shop, and create content in 2025.
Here are a few major updates they announced during the I/O Developer Conference this week.
AI Mode: Powered by Gemini 2.5, AI Mode has advanced reasoning capabilities so users can ask longer and more complicated queries.
Deep Search: For questions that demand even more detailed responses, users can use Deep Search. Users can create an expert-level report in just minutes in this mode.
These features are now available as a new tab right in search for all U.S. users.
AI Agent Capabilities: When users are using search they can ask Gemini to complete real-world tasks like booking concert tickets or making dinner reservations.
Partnerships with Ticketmaster, Resy, and StubHub have made this possible.
AI Shopping Experience: When shopping, users can upload a photo of themselves and try on clothes virtually, choosing from billions of apparel listings.
AI will make smart recommendations based on your style preferences.
Users can even ‘track price’ to purchase when the price is right and use the ‘buy for me’ feature to take advantage of agentic checkout.
This feature is coming to the U.S. in the next few months.
Veo 3: An AI video generator that can create and incorporate audio like dialogue between characters and animal sounds.
Google released an impressive example of Veo 3 here and online users were quick to comment how far AI has come.
The AI tool is available to U.S. users who are part of the $249.99 per month Ultra subscription plan.
The takeaway?
Brands that lean into these AI-powered innovations early will have a clear edge in speed, personalization, and engagement.

🎧 The Story of Chupa Chups: Surrealism and Lollipops
What are you communicating unconsciously through your marketing and your product presentation?
Are you tapping into details and colour schemes that could signal deeper meanings to your audience?
Do you think about the psychology behind how you’ve set up your mobile site experience and the order in which users will see information/imagery?
On this week’s episode of Ad-venturous, we dive into the connection between Dalí, one of the most famed surrealist artists of all time, and Chupa Chups, a candy brand that’s been around since 1958. 🍭
It’s weird, I know, but so is our unconscious mind!
So get into it 👇
If you’ve been having a hard time gaining traction as a brand and haven’t seen your content strategies resonating with your ICP as you’d hoped they would, it’s always a good idea to go beyond the surface and get freaky and Freudian with it.
The human psyche is at the core of what we do as marketers.
To understand how to sell something to someone, you first have to understand what motivates them to take action, and that piece is usually buried deep inside our unconscious brains.
So tune in this week to our first art history rant and discover the strategies the Surrealists deployed to help them tap into the unconscious mind.
We also cover one of the most common CRO mistakes I see out there while auditing brands as well as everything in between.
🔥 BRAND PARTNERSHIP
Google announced they will be partnering with innovative eyewear brands Warby Parker and Gentle Monster on stylish smart glasses for Android XR.
Partnering with both of these popular brands suggests Android XR’s new designs will be versatile and trendy.
More brand partners will be announced at a later date.
