DTC 386: Emojis Are the New Memes

A year ago, the Pilothouse team was all in on memes as the answer to brands paid ad problems.

Why? They were:

1️⃣ Cheap to run

2️⃣ Highly engaging

3️⃣ Convey complicated messaging in a simplified piece of content

Easy peasy, right? For a moment, yes.

Memes were a killer strategy to increase overall engagement and click-through rate (CTR).

But, like most trends in the marketing world, the industry tends to ring out all the water until there’s no drop left. 😢

Today, memes are heavily diluting both the organic and paid spaces, which means saying goodbye to standing out on the timeline.

🤔 So, now what?

Emojis. Emojis are the new memes. 😀

Why? They’re:

1️⃣ Cheap to run

2️⃣ Highly engaging

3️⃣ Convey complicated messaging in a simplified piece of content

See where we’re going? 👀

The success the Pilothouse Meta team is seeing with emojis is just too ridiculously high not to share.

And before you ask… Are humans really that simple? Do people really get enough information on a product to drive conversion?

The answer is yes. Simple sells. 👏

At 3-cent click costs… you’ll want to try popping some emojis on your top-performing creatives.
